A Scottish Twist on the Classic Gin Sour

Discover a uniquely Scottish take on the classic Gin Sour with this distinctive gift set. We provide the two handcrafted spirits that create a memorable and botanical version of this timeless cocktail: our award-winning Scots Pine Gin and our rich Blackcurrant Liqueur.

This set is the perfect foundation for those who enjoy cocktails with depth, character, and a genuine sense of place.

Two Distinctive Scottish Spirits

Inside this gift set, you will find the spirits that give our Gin Sour its unique character:

  • Awarded ★★★ at the Great Taste Awards, our Scots Pine Gin is truly a taste of the Scottish landscape. We forage for pine needles from the local Tentsmuir Forest, distilling them to create a gin with a remarkable pine-fresh aroma and a smooth, herbaceous character.
  • Made using real Scottish blackcurrants in line with our "berry to bottle" ethos, this liqueur offers a deep, jammy sweetness and a vibrant, dark fruit flavour. It replaces the simple sugar of a traditional sour, adding a layer of fruity complexity that perfectly complements the botanical gin.

How to Craft Your Gin Sour

With our spirits as your base, you just need a few fresh ingredients to create this modern classic.

Recipe:

  • 50ml Scots Pine Gin
  • 25ml Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 15ml Blackcurrant Liqueur
  • 1 Egg White (or a vegan foamer)

Method:
Add all ingredients to a shaker without ice. Shake hard for 15 seconds (the 'dry shake') to create the signature foam. Then, add ice to the shaker and shake again until perfectly chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice or into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Please note: This gift set provides the two core Tayport Distillery spirits. Fresh lemon juice and egg white are not included.

A Unique Gift for Gin Explorers

Presented in a Tayport Distillery gift box, this set is the ideal present for the gin enthusiast looking to explore flavours beyond the standard. It’s a wonderful way to share a truly creative taste of Scottish craft distilling.
