Dundee Marmalade Cocktail - Tayport Distillery

Dundee Marmalade Cocktail

A Scottish Twist on the Classic White Lady Cocktail

If you're looking for a unique and refreshing twist on a classic cocktail, you're in for a treat. The Dundee Marmalade inspired cocktail is a delightful concoction that combines the bold flavors of Scots Pine Gin with the zing of lemon, the sweetness of Cointreau, and a touch of marmalade for a hint of bitterness. This cocktail is perfect for those who appreciate a well-balanced and slightly herbal libation. Let's dive into the recipe and you can create one of your own!

50ml Scots Pine Gin

25ml Lemon Juice

25ml Cointreau

1 tsp Marmalade

Orange slice or twist for garnish

Cocktail shaker

Jigger or measuring tools

Coupe or martini glass

  1. Chill Your Glass: Start by placing your coupe or martini glass in the freezer to chill. A frosty glass will keep your cocktail wonderfully refreshing.
  1. Measure and Prepare Your Ingredients: Gather all your ingredients and measuring tools. Measure out 50ml of Scots Pine Gin, 25ml of lemon juice, and 25ml of Cointreau using a jigger or measuring cup. For the marmalade, use 1 teaspoon – this will add a subtle bitterness to the cocktail.
  1. Combine Ingredients in a Shaker: Add the Scots Pine Gin, lemon juice, Cointreau, and marmalade into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  1. Shake Vigorously: Give it a good shake for around 15-20 seconds. The ice will help chill and dilute the mixture slightly while also creating that perfect silky smooth texture.
  1. Strain into Chilled Glass: Remove your chilled glass from the freezer and strain the cocktail mixture into it. The cold glass will ensure your cocktail stays chilled throughout the experience.
  1. Garnish with an Orange Twist: Take a fresh orange and slice a thin twist from the peel. Express the oils over the drink by holding the twist over the glass and giving it a good twist. This will release the oils and add a lovely aroma to your cocktail. You can also place the twist on the rim or float it on the surface for an elegant touch.
  1. Serve and Enjoy!

This cocktail is a delightful variation of the classic White Lady cocktail, with our distinctive Scots Pine Gin and marmalade twist. It's a drink that's sure to impress your guests with its complex flavors and elegant presentation. Whether you're a seasoned cocktail enthusiast or new to mixology, this recipe is a must-try. So, gather your ingredients, follow the steps, and raise a glass with a truly unique and refreshing cocktail. Cheers!
