Tayport Distillery were delighted to support a local charity and help them blend their own Gin to raise funds. Over several weeks many Gin blends were sampled at the Old Course Hotel to select a favourite. Congratulations go to Marjorie Dalton, of the Adamsons, St Andrews who created a beautifully balanced gin which is now being distilled and bottled. The bottle features a unique design created by Jemma Brown of the paw print of Hamish with a wax top. The tasting notes and more on the story behind the Gin are below:
A over-arching floral nose with the presence of juniper and rose petals. Coriander and lemon peel balance the juniper to taste, allowing the citrus notes to come forward.
Botanicals: Juniper, Bay Leaf, Rose Petals, Lemon Peel, Coriander, Angelica, Almond, Catnip
Local charity The Hamish Foundation launched an innovative fundraising project to help raise funds to support St Andrews town initiatives during 2020. “Strictly Gin” included individuals signing-up for one of four unique gin blending experiences where each attendee blended their own favourite flavoured spirit during the masterclass with Tayport Distillery. The winner of each of the four heats went through to a grand final, where the gin created by Marjorie Dalton won. All proceeds will be donated to the Hamish Foundation and used to support a series of St Andrews improvement projects during the next twelve months. The gin is being sold on behalf of the Hamish Foundation, and all proceeds from the sale of the gin will be paid to the charity.
