Who are Tayport Distillery?
Tayport Distillery have been producing premium quality spirits from 2017 and currently hold seven awards in recognition of this high standard. We produce all our spirits on-site in a family owned and operated distillery, who love to get their hands dirty using the finest produce from local Scottish farmers. Our Malted Barley Vodka was recently voted one of the 10 best vodkas in the world by IWSC and featured in Forbes magazine. Our Vodka was launched in March 2020 using locally sourced malted barley. Our vodka is then charcoal filtered giving it a premium taste, texture, and flavour so that you can enjoy every sip. Read our tasting notes below:

Barley Vodka
At Tayport Distillery we use malted barley to make our vodka which is distilled and charcoal filtered at our distillery. The malted barley is collected from a small farm where the barley is grown, malted on site, and then milled. Vodka can be made from many different grains such as sorghum, corn, rice, rye, wheat or even potatoes and fruit. The taste and mouthfeel of the vodka will vary depending on what produce is used. Our spirit naturally gives a hint of vanilla and cacao flavour which comes from the malted barley. Our vodka can be enjoyed neat, with a mixer or in a cocktail. What nibbles to serve with vodka? We have solved that problem for you easy peasy! We have provided you some with premium Scottish vodka and nibbles. We have taken time to visit farmers and producers of all the products we include in our gift sets. With all our spirits being produced on-site in Tayport, this is a wholesome Scottish vodka gift set, perfect for someone special. - Podberrys
These peas come from a beautiful farm in Perthshire. A family who have expanded their farming to develop crunchy pea snacks that come in a variety of flavours. The peas are frozen in the summertime locking in their sweetness and natural green and nutritional goodness. They are then dried to give them their appetising crunchiness.
- Drinks Bakery Biscuits
The Drinks Bakery started in the kitchen of a home in Edinburgh. Andy Murray has created delicious savoury snacks using flavours from around the world. These are distinctive and enjoyable biscuits which Tayport Distillery has matched with each of their gift boxes.
- The Chocolate Tree Chocolate
From the award winning Chocolate Tree situated in a small farm bothy in East Lothian, Alastair and Friederike buy cacao from its origin in Peru, Colombia, Venezuela and Madagascar. The cacao has been fermented and dried by the growers at the origin, and this gives the chocolate its distinctive flavour. Buying at the original source, the Chocolate Tree ensures that more is given back to the farmers. The Chocolate Tree is an award-winning craft business.
Family Owned and Operated
We have touched on the importance of supporting local Scottish producers by included a range of wholly Scottish products in our vodka gift sets. We have crafted our entire range from start to finish all from our small distillery in Tayport, Fife. We are family run, so if you ever have the chance to visit, you might catch Alasdair raking out the grain from our mash tun or Mary snapping some photos for our next cocktail shoot. Kecia holds down the fort, running around keeping an eye on the still and munching on the fresh fruit as it comes in to make the liqueurs.
Not only is it important for us to support our producers, but it is also important for us to make sure you have a positive experience when purchasing a gift for someone special. One of the best parts of our job is reading your messages to loved ones, so make sure to leave one in the cart page. Kecia will personally hand write the message just before it is sent out for delivery.
