A true scottish gin
The latest edition to Tayport Distillery’s roster of premium spirits. inspired by the stunning Fife coastline and Tentsmuir Forest. This pine needle gin has been crafted with aromas of cinnamon and orange peel on the nose and a palette with a strong evergreen and juniper base. Winner of the 3-star Great Taste Award the judges commented “The spice on the gin is really well handled, the overall product is exceptionally well balanced. The alcohol is omnipresent but well controlled, the finish has good heat whilst never getting in the way of the botanicals. A memorable and very enjoyable gin.”
Our Scots Pine Gin is distilled, bottled and labelled on-site by our family team. We carefully distil to extract a beautiful blend of eight botanicals; Juniper, Scots Pine, Coriander, Angelica Root, Almond, Orange Peel, Cassia and Cardamon. The botanicals are placed in our innovative still called ‘Mamó’.
The palate delivers a beautiful balance of aromatic spice, peppery warmth, resinous pine, marked coriander and almost-sweet citrus. We can envisage this as a fireside gin, eschewing even ice, let alone the sweetening, lightening effect of tonic. A complex gin with sufficient intrigue and balance to while away a winter's afternoon contemplatively.
The Guild Of Fine FOod
An enjoyable aroma of pine is evident in this gin, with a hint of orange peel and juniper. It is exceptionally clean in the mouth with a sinus clearing, outdoor freshness. The complex balance of sharp, warm, fresh and earthy notes is exceptionally harmonious and increased when this gin is drunk with a bit of tonic.
